What in the world is ESPNEWS doing to John Maine? Not only did they start mentioning, um, IT in the fifth inning, they have started updating the graphic with every out. Though 6.0 innings, through 6.1 innings, etc. STOP IT! You aren’t supposed to talk about it.
UPDATE
And there it goes. New York Mets pitcher John Maine lost what would have been the first no-hitter in Mets franchise history on an infield single with two outs in the eighth inning. Maine was immediately pulled from the game by head choker manager Willie Randolph.
My question now is do I blame ESPNEWS for updating their graphic after every single out or me. The first batter after I posted this entry ended the no-hitter. In my defense, I didn’t mention “no-hitter” in my original post.
