Spygate update

On my blog roll, I have a sports link to Dan Shanoff’s blog.  For several years, he wrote the Daily Quickie for ESPN’s Page 2 web site.  That was my first stop on the internet five days a week.  He left ESPN a couple years ago, but started a blog at danshanoff.com. He recently moved his blog to the Sporting News blogging sub-site, The Sporting Blog.

This morning, he wrote about the NFL getting close to an agreement with Matt Walsh, the former New England Patriots’ employee who has hinted at having video taped things (including the Rams Super Bowl walk through) for the team.  He raised a very good point that I am sad to say that I hadn’t thought of before.  He wonders if a deal is reached between the two parties, what evidence will be released versus confiscated.  It isn’t like the NFL has a good track record when it has hard evidence against the Patriots.

Does the NFL want to talk to Matt Walsh to learn how big a scandal Spygate really is?   Or does the NFL simply want to shut him up and hide/destroy the evidence?  It may be a good thing Congress is getting involved since the NFL can’t really be trusted in this situation.
