Chris Allman Returns to Greater Vision

Just before 9:00 PM last night, Greater Vision announced on their website and other media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) that the group’s original tenor, Chris Allman, is returning to fill the position vacated by Jacob Kitson.  Chris had been serving as the pastor at  The Church at Burlington the last several years.  Vocally, Chris remains the best tenor Greater Vision has had, and with his background as a pastor, he will add tremendously to the group’ s ministry.

One aspect of his return I am looking forward to is his song writing.  Hopefully, the group will return to cutting some of his songs instead of relying almost solely on songs from baritone Rodney Griffin.  While Rodney remains one of the industry’s most prolific song writers, his songs have recently lacked the originality his songs from five or ten years ago had.  With Chris in the group, they can take the best songs from Rodney along with songs from Chris and make a great, fresh sounding recording.

Chris will make his return to the stage with Greater Vision in Myrtle Beach, SC on April 21.

Also, please keep The Church At Burlington in your prayers has they seek a new pastor.

For those who do not know or remember Chris Allman, below is a video featuring him from the 1995 National Quartet Convention.
