I can’t say I was ever a fan of the McKameys’ music. It just wasn’t something I was drawn to.

However, based on EVERYTHING I’ve ever heard about the McKameys, I loved them. There aren’t very many people, much less groups, you can name that I can’t recall something negative said about them. The McKameys’ reputation was spotless. No one ever tried to say they were perfect, but…

They were real. They were authentic. They were genuine.

The face of the family has received her reward. And the world of southern gospel music is lesser for it.
